Birthday of Netaji (23 January)

Subhash Chandra Bose was an Indian Nationalist whose defiant patriotism made him a hero in India‟s struggle to Independence. His works and legacy are an inspiration to generations of young Indians and his Jayanti is an opportunity to celebrate him. The speaker paid a tribute to the revolutionary leader, on his birth anniversary by giving an insight into his famous quotes and discussed about his contribution to the Indian freedom struggle .She spoke about his indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation which inspires people, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity.

International Women’s Day (8 March):

KAGUS observes International Women’s Day with meaningful programs and initiatives. Through discussions, workshops, and guest speakers, we celebrate women’s achievements and advocate for gender equality. These efforts empower our members to become champions for positive change in society.

World Day Against Trafficking in Persons:

On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, July 30th, we conduct awareness programs to educate communities about the dangers of trafficking. Through these initiatives, we raise awareness and empower individuals to recognize and combat trafficking, fostering a safer and more vigilant society committed to eradicating this grave issue.

Independence Day:

Independence Day is significant for all Indian citizens and brings great self-importance. On August 15th, we gathered at our society office in Khanpur, which was decorated with our flag’s colours. Our Chief guest raises the National flag, followed by the anthem. We honour brave freedom fighters with cultural tributes. The joyful presence of local children and shared sweet treats foster unity and celebration.

SPORTS and YOGA DAY

KAGUS believes that simply serious work is not enough for an all-round development of human being. Sports and games are an essential part of development. During the last year KAGUS organized several sporting and Cultural Programme and Yoga events. KAGUS has been a volleyball play ground in its land. The ground made through the support of Youth and Sports department (Govt. of West Bengal) last year. In this ground the youths are playing regularly and this year our organization organized a volley ball tournament. The community youths are very influence to play. The sporting events included football, volleyball and other tournaments and sports for children. These events were organized primarily with KAGUS funds in Chanchal-II blocks. More than 450 children and youth participated in these games. KAGUS also conducted different competition for students and villagers to spread the message of cultural heritage and national integration.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Honorable Prime Minister vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s socio-cultural, political and economic identity. The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on 12th March, 2021 which started a 75 week countdown to our 75th anniversary of Independence and will end post a year on 15th August, 2023.
